A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Clearly from a tribal nomadic milieu. The carrot-toned field depicts a woman weaver with an enlarged head and smaller body, accompanied by abstract birds above and below, and columns of stars set within full-length herringbone trees. A dark blue abrashed border displays reversing fan palmettes with partially serrated, slanted leaves. Sumak closure tabs appear at the top. Perhaps southwestern Persian or from elsewhere, but charming regardless.
