Vintage Persian Malayer Throw Rug (Pair: 1 of 2)

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A visual pair to rug # 32018. The light grey field presents one of the most successful allover Malayer village patterns, featuring extended stars, color samplers, octagons, and slanted rhomboid leaves. Geometric flowers appear at the top and bottom along the central axis. The straw border is decorated with barbed and serrated pseudo-palmettes arranged on a faceted, angular meander.
