A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A visual pair to rug # 31987. The beveled slate-grey field presents a distinctive Malayer variant of the classic Herati allover design, featuring a central column of fringed, joined nested diamonds, flanked by small rosettes, paired leaves, and smaller diamonds. The plain corners are rendered in bone. A pale straw main border displays a squared, strip-style meander enclosing reversing, fringed, lobed triangular palmettes.
